Bathing a dog

Bathing a dog should be given more importance. This is because if you are careless in bathing, the animal can end up with infections. For example, if you do not close the ears with a large cotton ball, water can enter the ear canals and cause ear infections with signs such as constant ear discharge and head shaking.

The frequency of bathing actually depends on the breed of dog. If the dog is a hairy type like the cocker spaniel, the bath should be done once every six to eight weeks. If these breeds are bathed too frequently, the skin and coat lose their protective characteristics. However, when the dog has defecated on the skin due to frequent digestive disorders resulting in diarrhea, to avoid bad odors, the dog can be subjected to frequent bathing by the owners.

Be more careful to avoid some irritating soaps or human soaps. Soap materials are not appropriate for dogs. Similarly, many human shampoos contain ingredients that are not suitable in the proportions to be used for dogs. Therefore, always try to use the shampoo products mentioned primarily for use on dogs. Be more careful when using a new product.

Always have time and patience for the products needed for bathing in one place with the availability of a water source. Dogs love to be sprayed with water, rivers and oceans. Even when using a bathtub, have everything in one place, then start bathing the dog. Try to have a leash, conditioner, towel and shampoo in the bath.

Conditioner is useful to make combing easier later. Bathing should be a convenient activity for both the dog and the owner. It should not be a burden.
