How to install a wall-mounted aquarium?

Life under the sea has long fascinated earthlings trying to uncover its mysteries, and the privilege of being able to bring a small piece of it home has proven too hard to resist. Saltwater aquariums can be seen in homes around the world, containing everything from tropical fish to sharks and rays.

For many, however, just having an aquarium in the middle of the room where they have chosen to put it is not enough for them to watch and admire. They wish to be in the middle of the ocean itself, to be surrounded by the marine life they have long admired.

Unfortunately, although science has made a lot of progress in this area, it is not yet possible for humans to live under the sea. A little taste of what it would be like to have the ocean as soil, walls, and sky can be obtained by installing a wall aquarium.

There are many shapes and sizes of wall aquariums, from tanks no bigger than a small TV screen to the large tanks that make up the walls of the National Aquarium in Baltimore, Maryland. Setting up these aquariums is not difficult, although it takes a lot of time and effort; however, with the proper instructions and guidance, anyone can afford to enjoy these beautiful home accessories.

Before you get carried away with the concept of being able to float in a mermaid's lagoon (even if it's only in your mind), it's important that you first make sure your home will be able to support the aquarium you want to install there.

The strength of your wall studs will be the determining factor in whether it is possible to place an aquarium directly into the foundation of your home; if they are not strong enough to support the weight of the aquarium, the mission must be abandoned from the start.

It is possible to hire a company to come and install your aquarium for you, ensuring that the cables and pumps are neatly hidden and the aquarium blends seamlessly into the fabric of your home. If this solution is more expensive than installing it yourself, it is a guarantee of success (after all, if a professional makes a mistake during the installation of your aquarium, he will be responsible for the repairs, not you). If you are new to home aquarium setup, or home repair in general, or don't have a lot of time to devote to this task, this option is probably the best one for you.

Although wall-mounted aquariums are more expensive than traditional aquariums, they come with a set of advantages of their own. They generally require fewer cords and outlets, as well as less maintenance.

They allow you to save space and ensure that little fingers do not end up in the aquarium to torment the fish. Most importantly, they allow you to bring a bit of every child's dream home, mixing fantasy and reality in a way that was previously only available on TV.
